The Inn at Herrington Harbour lies within a large marina resort on the Chesapeake Bay. In 1978, visionary entrepreneur Steuart Chaney and three investors purchased the dilapidated marina, restaurant, and motel. They immediately began making improvements with a hardworking team of three employees; now well over 100. Over the past four decades, the Inn and marina have been transformed into the most unique vacation and boating destination on the Bay.
Pictures of the past show a motor court motel once painted yellow and green, then white and eventually pink. Like many motels of the 1940s, parking spaces landed your automobile at the threshold of your room’s front door! True to the culture of constant improvement, the motor court and parking spaces inside the U-shaped Inn, were replaced with winding walkways, river birch trees, crepe myrtles, and landscaped rain gardens, creating an oasis of peace and relaxation for all our guests.
Recently, one of the original wings of the Inn was replaced with luxury rooms and suites. These new, meticulously designed accommodations replicate the detail of the Arts and Crafts era, seamlessly complementing the original construction.
The Inn at Herrington Harbour remains family-owned. We’re passionate about warmly welcoming guests and facilitating joy as visitors experience beautiful skies, expansive views of the Bay, and the calming sight of boats gracefully gliding over the water.
We’re committed to constant improvement and the following:
