Buildings include a one-room schoolhouse, a residence, smokehouse, dairy and an African-American meeting house. For a full immersion in Chesapeake Bay culture, arts, and history, Captain Avery Museum hosts music events, painting classes, and presentations by local authors and museums. The Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum dives into the rich history of the area that once consisted of casinos, hotels, racetracks, and boardwalks. (10 – 25 minutes)
- MEMORIAL PARKS: Remember and honor all of our national heroes in a peaceful setting along the Bay at The Veterans Memorial Park. There, you can purchase memorial bricks in dedication to a loved one who served. Take time to reflect along the shaded trails of historical Lynwood T Kellam Memorial Recreational Park. (10 minutes)
- ANTIQUES: A short drive into town will bring you to a number of antiques markets and consignment shops. Friendship Antiques and Vintage is housed in a historical building where you can peruse art, antique furniture, vintage jewelry, rocks, and fossils. Flea market fans will love exploring the 20 rooms of A-1 Antiques, filled with furniture, collectible coins, and gifts. (5 – 7 minutes)
